1. Entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis until all categories are filled or deadline date (postmarked by September 1, 2007), whichever comes first.
2. *See Entry fees/Information below.
3. There will be no refund of entry fees except in the case of a category being filled or canceled. The entry fee will then be refunded. If for any reason an applicant is refused entry before the competition date entry fees will be refunded.
4 . Competitors may enter more than one category, provided they meet the criteria for the categories and understand they must follow the time-schedule for each category as provided to them in their entrant packet.
5. All competitors must supply two (2) high quality CD's with only their set of music (i.e.: the use of several sections out of order on a"marketed" CD, or more than one CD to interchange, is not acceptable). If music is NOT ready to go with your name and category, competitor will be disqualified. There will be no rehearsal and no live music for competitors; musicians will not be allowed on stage as back-up for performers (see Nile Category rules). Time limits for each category will be strictly adhered to: A ten (10) second grace period will be given for people / machinery errors. If entrant goes over category time limit plus the grace period, music will be faded and competitor will be disqualified.
6. Competitors must check in at the designated time for their category, which will be given to competitors at least 30 days prior to competition (normal check in time is one hour before beginning of category). Performers must remain in the event area (dressing room or ballroom) after checking in. (Leaving to go to restaurant, hotel room, etc. is grounds for disqualification). If a competitor has not checked in by the designated time, s/he/they will be disqualified from competition, with no refund of monies. Competitors will be assigned position on a first registered (via postage or confirmed e-mail registration (PayPal) date) first placed basis. Competitor will request, via registration form, to be placed in first, middle, or last section of the category. Example: the competitor requesting last spot, and who has the earliest postmarked envelope or confirmed e-mail registration with payment will receive that requested position. If a competitor is not ready to perform in designated time slot, s/he/they will be disqualified, with no refund of moneys.
7. Zaina Hart, Double Crown Productions LLC, The Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™, its entities and Associates, reserve the right to disqualify and/or deny a competitor / performer the right to perform in the competition / show, with no refund of moneys, if the competitor / performer shows up for the competition in a state of drunkenness or in a manner that is detrimental to the competition, other competitors, and / or any other person(s) involved in The Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™ (i.e. acting in a threatening, angry, etc. manner towards anyone).
8. The competitor/s agrees to submit a photo (no smaller than 5 x 7) of him / her / them along with a brief resume / bio (may or may not be edited at the discretion of the sponsor, Zaina). Competitor must also submit a 3-5 sentence bio. The competitor/s further agrees and authorizes Zaina Hart, Double Crown Productions LLC, The Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™ and/or associates to use any and all photos and resumes submitted to this competition for program and publicity purposes. Failure to submit said information could result in photos and resumes being omitted from program and other forms of advertisement / publicity. For inclusion in the Program, all photos of competitors must be submitted with application/registration. (Program deadline date is 9/1/07)
9. All judges’ scores for each competitor will be counted in the total figure to determine the Winner, Second and Third placement in all categories. Highest and Lowest scores are NOT thrown out. Score sheets are available to the competitors, one week "after The 2007 Double Crown Belly Dance Competition is completed". Score sheets will not be given to competitors during the competition weekend. Competitor must submit a Self Addressed 9 x 12 envelope with $2.55 postage included in order to receive their score sheets.
10. Competitors, Vendors, Judges and Guest Performers authorize Zaina Hart, Double Crown Productions LLC, The Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™, entities, associates and/or heirs to use or sell any or all photos or videotapes taken during said competition, for educational, promotional and professional purposes. Competitors release all rights, compensation recourse and complaints.
11. Prizes and awards will be awarded to the competitors and accepted by the competitors the day of their category competition at The 2007 Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™.
12. Any competitor winning any category of The 2007 Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™ agrees to use the title of that category correctly, for publicity purposes. (Example: Your Name, 2007 (Category) Double Crown Belly Dance Performing Artist or 2007 Double Crown Nile Second Place Winners). If you are unsure how your title should used, please contact Zaina@zainahart.com for clarification.
13. Zaina Hart, or anyone working for, with, or connected to The 2007 Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™, Double Crown Productions LLC, its entities, heirs and / or Associates will not be held responsible for loss, theft, damage, injury, etc. to competitors personal belongings or competitor. Competitors, Judges, Guest Performers and Vendors assume all responsibility and liability for themselves and all personal and vending property.
14. All applications, forms, contracts, releases, moneys, etc. must be signed by Competitor, Festival Performer, Judges, or Vendors, and received and confirmed by The 2007 Double Crown Belly Dance Competition™ or its staff, before being accepted into any category in The 2007 Double Crown Belly Dance Competition.
